Another Year, Another June Dairy Breakfast

June 1st marks our 11th anniversary of moving to Wausau.

Little did I know then that we would grow to call Wisconsin home, start a family, build wonderful friendships, and be so happy here (although I am still an Iowa girl at heart)!

Scenes from the 2010 June Dairy Breakfast

This has become an annual event for us.

Besides a yummy breakfast,

the girls love to sit on the big John Deere tractors,

walk through the Guernsey barn,

pet the farm cat,

meet the Pork Queen,

and get their faces painted.

We love Wisconsin!

Hypothermia in June: Part 2

On Sunday, we all headed out into the 48 degree, cloudy, damp weather to the Marathon County June Dairy Breakfast. Remember the beautiful weather in last year's post? Well, it was nothing like that!

We enjoyed a tasty breakfast of pancakes, eggs, sausage, donut holes, cheese curds, and milk.

The girls climbed on a tractor.

Allie tried really hard to milk a cow.

And they both fell in love with a fluffy little orange kitten.

When they were all done climbing and cuddling, we walked over to the Culver's tent to get our free cup of ice cream. Meredith didn't even want hers, she was too cold. After eating our ice cream and walking back to the truck, we were freezing. Thankfully, the heater in the new truck works very well and we were all toasty warm by the time we got home.

June Dairy Breakfast

June is dairy month in Wisconsin and to show our support we attended the June Dairy Breakfast at Blue Ridge Dairy just east of Wausau.
We ate breakfast in a barn.

We saw some cows.

We sat on some tractors. Okay, so technically not a tractor. We'll call it a Bobcat or a manure mover.

And we enjoyed a beautiful morning in Wisconsin's Dairyland.
