Scenes from Christmas Day

This is the view of our backyard on Christmas Eve day.

Allie's gingerbread house (cute but not edible).

Sue's sugar cookies (cute and very edible).

Allie: "Mom, mom (as she taps me on the forehead)...I'm wide awake."
Mom: "What time is it?"
Allie: "The clock says one one five."
Dad: "Get your *** back to bed!"

(By 2:15, we had both kids, Maty, and Polly in bed with us. We finally got up at 5:30)

Santa didn't forget Polly and Maty.

I think the cats have the right idea. When's naptime?

A Mid-December Update

The kids have written their letters to Santa, the stockings are hung, the tree is trimmed, and the kitten has been declawed. We are officially ready for Christmas!

Two weeks ago, Grandma took all the girls to the Festival of Trees Teddy Bear Breakfast.

Last weekend, we got our "cat proof" Blue Spruce. Now I'm not saying that it was falsely advertised, but it's not really cat proof. So we got the kitten declawed.

And this Saturday, the girls and I spent the night with my cousin, Coni, and her husband, Dan. Coni took us to the Rotary Winter Wonderland in Marshfield and it was amazing. I highly recommend you check it out if you live in the area. The girls helped Dan cut down their Christmas tree and also got to ride on the snowmobile.

So far, the first half of the month has been great. Now comes the agonizing wait for the 25th!

It's a Mitten Giveaway!

This is it!

My last pair of 2009 and they can be yours...if you follow the rules.

Rule #1. You must leave a comment.

Rule #2. A reader is only eligible to leave a comment if that reader has never left a comment on my blog before. You can be a regular reader of my blog, but maybe you've never left a comment because you don't know me very well. Now's your chance. I'm a really nice person. I may even give you a free pair of mittens to prove it!

Rule #3. When you leave your comment, you need to mention how you found my blog. For example..."I read Kendra's blog and followed her link to yours". Or "I used to read Kim's blog but since she hasn't posted anything since May, I find your blog much more entertaining." Or "I read a blog, that has a link to a blog called The Gasall Family and that blog has a link to yours". You get the idea.

Rule #4. When you leave a comment with your name and the name of the person who connected you to my blog...you are BOTH entered in the drawing for the mittens. Your names will only be entered once.

Rule #5. I will draw the winning name at approximately 10 am CST on Saturday, December 12th.

Good Luck!

This is what you will win!
