We got up bright and early today and went out to the Wausau School Forest with our friends and neighbors, Mr. R and his mom. The school district was having a family fun day with tobogganing, cross country skiing, and snowshoeing. This is my second blog post about this unique educational opportunity. First, we tried the toboggan run. This is not just your average type of sledding. You can fit 5 people onto a toboggan, which is sitting on a ramp. Once you are all in place, a lever is released and you are sent careening down the hillside.

Meredith got cold so we had to go into the lodge and warm up by the fireplace with a cup of hot cocoa.
While we were inside, Allie, Mr. R, and his mom headed out on the cross country ski trail. These two are practically professionals at the skiing thing. They took lessons together last winter.

How fun!!! I can't wait to hear all about the snow shoeing. Allie and Mr. R look like pros at the skiing.
What a winter wonderland there! Everything is all brown, dead, and dirty here in SD. No snow. Looks like you guys had lots of fun!
